Art is as individual as the artist. It is a way of seeing — a perspective. At SUNY Oswego, you'll gain a broad understanding of traditional techniques while developing your own personal style. You'll also have the chance to bolster your skills by exploring related creative fields.
In this program, we aim to develop your skills and aesthetic understanding in an artistic discipline. Students are required to take courses that blend studio practice with references to art history and theory. You have the chance to work closely with teachers who are committed to creative work in their own field and encourage students to follow the same path. The program encourages you to strive for the creation of a significant body of art work representing very high levels of achievement.
